Geo Bus Project - First Look
On October 11th, 2019 the Geo bus project first stage was unveiled. The presentation took place at the Lynx’s maintenance location.
A 2015 retired bus was chosen to undergo the transformation from a service bus to a mobile educational lab. The process altogether has taken seven months approximately and seven people have been involved on stripping, wrapping, painting and removing the chairs on the bus. The Lynx’s team has been working tirelessly on this project, according to Heriberto Echavarria, head of the bodyshop department “this job has been a priority and the first look has fulfilled all the expectations.”
The UCF foundation and the 15Lightyears foundation were present, as well as the electricians, mechanics and some of the personnel involved in the project.
Even though there is a long way to go before seeing the final product, the enthusiasm is palpable, and the expectations are running high. According to Francis Franco, Lynx’s GIS coordinator, “It is important to keep the momentum going and the spirits high.”
An exact time for the completion of the project has not been set, but hopefully before the end of 2020 the Geo lab starts touring our schools.
